Every product you buy has a maker – at Lucy & Jo, we know ours by name.

More than 90% of the artists we work with are women. Why?

Because when women in developing countries earn a living wage they invest in their children’s education and health. And, education, especially the education of girls, is the single most powerful pathway out of poverty. By keeping a girl in school, she marries later, has fewer children and can earn a more secure & stable income over the long-term. Yay girl power! (But we also work with men, because let’s face it, they can be pretty awesome too).

We design exclusive, limited edition collections that combine traditional craftsmanship with modern design and serve as a channel for these talented artists to access a larger market. We pay the price they set (and sometimes more if we think their price is too low), provide tools and training, invest in community projects and place small orders throughout the year to support a consistent income and reduce inequality.
